So many people are unaware of the valid need for internet security today. For whatever reason, the average internet user seems to be cognizant of the warnings that exist regarding this topic, but nevertheless, do not believe they need to protect against it. This “not me” mentality could be attributed to dozens of things, but that fact is basically irrelevant when the reality is everyone is vulnerable. Now, I realise not everyone using a computer is technologically savvy, or interested in becoming so. In fact many users would prefer to not become educated, cross their fingers and toes and hope that nothing goes wrong.

Even when internet security becomes an issue, the majority of people who seek help rectifying the situation do not want to hear about malware and virus protection. They just want the problem fixed, and want to know what to do to avoid more of the same in the future. Due to the nature of my profession, I find this difficult to swallow. If the roles were reversed, I know I would want to acquire a level of knowledge as to the security of my internet. But, since the clients eyes glaze over, and they stop listening when I try to explain the dangers of viruses, spyware and spam I will resign myself to the facts. At least they are obtaining protection, and that’s a wonderful step in the right direction.

As the role of bloggers grows, and becomes more defined so to do facets of the way they blog. While some will maintain that the set up of their website, and the structure to which they are beholden must be of their own creation, others will concede a method is of import. Take for example social media icons. They allow readers to connect through social media platforms, and therefore can be considered more than just eye candy to say the very least.

So what does that mean for a blogger? Well, it should impact where a blogger places the icon and how they incorporate it in their site design. We live in a world of instant gratification, where speed is paramount. Therefore, people are not interested in having to look around for the Twitter and Facebook icons. They want it to be obvious, and to be able to click n a button and go directly to your profile. And if you have created things to be reminiscent of what your blog is all about, then jackpot. You get a gold star for your efforts and ability. Overall, that will reflect positively on you and the content you choose to share, and the message you profess to share.

So you have heard about Network-based Automatic Call Distribution and are still wondering if it is the way to go. For some, what this form of ACD is all about is clear, while others are still learning what it has to offer. Both, those educated and those becoming educated, will ultimately come to the point where they are investigating the benefits available in order to confirm that it is for them, and or their customers.

In order to figure it out lets start with the basics. Automatic Call Distribution is defined as a system or device that allocates incoming calls to a defined collection of terminals that agents use. Ok, got that loud and clear, but what is special about a Network-based ACD? Well, it allows customers to configure call distribution themselves through a PC browser. This means that the customer is able to act, or react on the spot. So, there need not be any reason why the shortest caller waiting time is not guaranteed, and calls can be directed to agents with the most knowledge, or skill bases on a certain subject.

Beyond what a customer can do, this type of ACD gives more control to callers too. They are able to decide whether or not they want to wait on hold, or would prefer to have a virtual placeholder save their place. Once they become first in the queue, they take over, or they may be called back when it is more convenient.

And finally, one thing we can all agree is a plus, the service provided is not only effectual and flexible, but comes at a better price. This is due in part to the fact that there is no customer investment or maintenance of local equipment.

I do hope this was helpful, and that Network- based Automatic Call Distribution has been made less mysterious for those of you seeking clarification.

A daily part of most people’s lives today is the social interaction through social networks. It is where individuals do not only share a name or a photo, but also languages, education, geographic locations, interests, and surveys. Friends aren’t the only people who view such information, but also individuals who are allowed full access to personal profiles. The ease of posting and viewing information this way made it possible for a profile to be updates and populated in only a few clicks. The problem with this straight-forward way of updating information is that it can easily magnify hateful posts to a great number of locations on the internet, and expose the person to strange people.

Although social networks give people the opportunity of connection with one another, it gives online criminals the creativity and the chance when selecting their victims. It might allow them to steal personal sensitive information, harass, intimidate, or even murder someone. A popular social network that many professionals use called LinkedIn, does not give its users the permission to even connect with people they don’t know, even though that is not easy depending on how much the person stays online and how many contacts s/he has on his/her list. Not maintaining the awareness of the possible risks you might face if you accept someone you don’t know on your list or share specific information on your profile page creates many risks for the person’s life.

Many of the social networking websites out there attempt to keep age within limits. These website though rely on self-reporting, which means this is information is most of the times untrue. If one maintains a profile on a social networking website, one can set his profile to private, which limits the general view of the public. They can also be public; meaning anyone else using the same social network can view their profile page, send messages, and search for them. No matter how one thinks his/her profile is private, it is still possible to a great extent for other search engines and individuals to view their personal content.
Some of the ways to overcome the difficult threats of security on social networking websites can be challenging and is often forcing the society to take creative steps that stress the importance of community support and parental awareness. Pediatricians play an essential role when answering families’ questions to what does and what does not lead to victimization through social networks. Parents are also responsible and are a similar element to the equation. They should less emphasize the use of social networks by focusing more on what, where, and who are their children talking with online.

In addition to doctors and parents, the social networking websites’ operators’ themselves have a huge responsibility to utilize sensitive user agreements, create age restrictions, and limit content. They should provide their users with educational materials and instructions that aren’t difficult to help demonstrate methods of protecting themselves online. They should be concerned more about the perception of the safety on the websites, the sense of security, and the users’ behaviors.

Is there a value of LinkedIn over Facebook when it comes to business? The answer to this question depends essentially on the company culture, goals, and customer. If you aim to survive in the new economy, you have to identify which is better for you; therefore, you are left with the question of which method would you choose and how would you launch it.

LinkedIn, in contrast to Facebook, did not give its users the opportunities of freely conversing with other contacts and posting photo albums. The LinkedIn founders decided in the early days to produce a social media website that was more professional and less social. It still was identified as a professional networking community even though they decided to expand its applications after considering the amount of things that Twitter and Facebook can do.
LinkedIn, when it first began, was a job search resource, unlike Facebook, which began as a social networking website for mostly college students. LinkedIn provides people with career advantages since it’s a distinctive professional network of credible and reliable connections.

LinkedIn gives you the opportunity to hunt for companies, unlike Facebook, which only permits you to search for friends. If many people are following you on LinkedIn, you can acquire access to those in specific industries, jobs, or groups. In addition to letting you hunt for companies, it allows you job offers, answers to questions, and for other people. Those who don’t use LinkedIn to the fullest aren’t given the advantage as those salespeople, for instance, who seek to search for companies and find network connection within them.

LinkedIn’s expanded and updated functions gave its members the opportunity to answer and ask questions within certain groups in which they are members. Eventually, by becoming an active member who answers credible answers, you create a trustful environment among a wide range of people.
You can also showcase the value of your features on LinkedIn without advertising, which most businesses use. In order to complete your profile, LinkedIn requires three recommendations. Although some business post more than the required, we caution to assure the fact that the recommendations are accurately giving a picture of your services.

Another option that LinkedIn provides is making your blog posts visible to any and all of your groups. You can publish the blog posts by using only one of the applications of blog posting, which enables your blog to become much broader across the LinkedIn network. Unlike on Facebook, where most probably you would be posting your blog to your personal status or profile, you can post it to a huge number of groups within your profile on LinkedIn.

The advantages would pale in comparison when differentiating between business networking like LinkedIn and social networks like Facebook and Twitter. You are the one though who must carefully take a look at each one and decide which method will be the more suitable for your business.

Bookmark managers, like del.icio.us are essentially where you get to place all the pages that grab your attention online. Most people have tried the favorite features or the bookmarks of their internet browsers, but del.icio.us gives its users the opportunity of maintaining the same benefits of other bookmarking websites in a much more efficient way though.

The quantity of repeat traffic that you will be capable of creating is what makes del.icio.us much stronger than other social media websites. Most social media websites end directly after generating a quick rush of traffic, but with del.icio.us, you get to receive a flow of repeat traffic since other users return to the bookmarked pages. The regular social media websites do not lead you to inbound links like the ones del.icio.us would lead you to. Del.icio.us gives its users the opportunity to place their bookmarks everyday on their blog; therefore, you will receive a link from their blog every time one of them bookmarks a page of yours.

Your webpages will be placed on popurls if they become popular. Popurls, since it sends almost few hundred visitors, makes links available to the top items on other bookmarking websites like Reddit, and Digg.

You will be required to do whatever it takes to reach the front page by getting other users to bookmark your page, which will lead you to sufficient results. These results would be much less sufficient than if you aimed to reach the front page even though it is possible that traffic can be repeated and exposure can be received regardless of reaching the front page.

It wouldn’t be difficult if you carefully planned things when it comes to making the front page. One of the essential steps you should take is to create something that would get enough users in the future and that the majority of people would want to use.

Resource lists, as I have mentioned earlier, tend to be very significant on del.isio.us. This should be great news if you are planning to market with del.isio.us. Even though resource lists may require a lot of time to gather together, they are very easy to create, and do not necessarily need neither the experience nor the knowledge. It is considered much harder to write a blog spot than to create a resource list; therefore, even new bloggers can easily succeed with del.icio.us.

The opportunity of becoming popular on del.icio.us is highly affected by the amount of traffic on the webpage. The potential bookmarks are received according to the traffic it gets. The number of del.icio.us users is just as significant as the number of visitors who visit the webpage. Although 20,000 visitors might visit one page in one day, the page might still not receive any bookmarks if none of visitors are del.icio.us users.

It can be somehow overwhelming to promote a small business, because it is not always easy to where to promote the blog, where to list the business, and how to stay on top of the trends. You have to build relationships and gain awareness since it is considered the ultimate goal anyone should look forward to achieve when promoting a business. LinkedIn can support your personal brand and the company brand if you create a company page. The only problem for a small business is with the promotion of the company brand VS the personal brand and the determination of how both come together. The option of having company pages on LinkedIn assists you with solving such an issue.

In addition to helping you improve search engine rankings, LinkedIn company pages also gives you the opportunity to have more information on them that isn’t afforded on the personal page. Potential employees wisely use company pages to search for information about a certain company; however, there is a possibility that a business might get overlooked if it’s a small one with less than 5 employees.

Company Page Benefits on LinkedIn:

Spreading awareness
Any user who is searching for a company within his/her geographic area will be capable of finding it and have the chance of seeing an overview of it.

Information about the company
You will be able to provide other users with information about your company, and not about you or any of the employees.

Optimize through search engines
The company pages you make on LinkedIn can help you with getting your company on the first page of most of the search engines. Too many listings of local directory can push your own SEO efforts to the second or third page; therefore, be careful not to have too many of them.

Promote your blog
Link your blog RSS to your LinkedIn company profile, and make sure other groups can see it.

Company branding
Your company page should include good, relevant, and pertinent information and ideas about your company. It should also include your logo to promote the company’s visual recognition. LinkedIn company pages provide its users with another way of promoting your personal brand as well as your company. LinkedIn pulls the employees, by the time you create a company page, and provides links to them by having them listed as an employer.

Your services and products can be recommended by customers. Take the opportunity and inform your customers that you made a company page, and would appreciate a recommendation. Use the opportunity by sending them the link to the page in order to keep them updated and reminded to pass your name on to other people who might benefit from the services and products you are providing.

Delicious is one of the bookmarking websites that gives you the opportunity to share and store the webpages you admire the most. It is called “Del.icio.us” which is taken from the real name, but the domain was changed later on to delicious.com. There are 6 reasons why delicious.com is one of the most preferable bookmarking websites.

1. There is accessibility to your bookmarks everywhere you go

By far, this is considered the biggest benefit in general when it comes to social bookmarking. Most online users maintain several machines that they regularly surf between school, home, libraries, home, public, etc. Social bookmarking is the most beneficial way to access almost everything you save, since in one day you might use up to five or six different machines.

2. You can gather ideas

Since sometimes we can come across articles about things that we would like to encounter one day like, for instance, a trip abroad, we can them with specific tags. Afterwards, when we have some time, a list of ideas will be available in front of us for specific places and time periods.

3. You will be capable of sharing your bookmarks with everyone else

You can share your bookmarks in two different ways if you are planning to share them with your classmates, friends, coworkers, etc. You can separately create accounts on delicious.com, and make the link to your account applicable to the people you want to share the links you saved with. You can also create group/subject tags (business, work, marketing, forwork, blogging, etc.), and send under your account the URL with the preferable tag.

4. You can hold on to things that grab your attention

Most often we all require some inspiration. Save anything that grabs your attention to your bookmarks. For instance, tag great logo companies as logo inspiration and websites that are well-designed as webinspiration.

5. Action items can be organized

Any blogger usually comes across useful tips and tricks, and articles every day. S/he saves these articles for two different reasons. The first one is because they might be very good articles that s/he have benefited from and would like to share with everyone else. The second reason is because s/he thinks that s/he can use such articles later on to apply to his/her website. So, s/he starts by tagging these articles and other useful pages with descriptive keywords. The only difference this time though is that it includes “action.” When you take a look at his/her tag list, you will realize how an action will take place later on to improve his/her website.

6. You can construct a network

You can add other people who you find interested in the same things you are interested in to your network. If you add someone to your network, whenever you bookmark something that you feel is going to fulfill their interest, you will see them listed under Network Tags. Same exact thing will occur if someone in your network decided to share a link with you: you will receive a new message in your inbox.

Social networking websites can get you closer to people and is considered one of the idealist ways of socializing, yet one should be aware of the fact that there are hackers and potential attackers whom you have to keep an eye on.

Make the right choice when choosing among various social networking websites

Even though there are various social networking websites, where everyone maintains its own credibility in some way, you should only stick to the few ones that are trusted unless you are into specific matters like online marketing. It would be considered efficient for the regular online social communication. Simply, think of social networking websites as huge rooms where people from every country is permitted to join, yet you have to wisely choose to meet only the people you personally know.

Avoid placing much personal information on the social networking website you are using

Any user should avoid posting personal information like his/her place of work, number, personal address, and names of relatives on their profile page. If you post much personal information on your profile page, there is a great possibility that online criminals will use them to hack your other networking websites, or personal bank accounts.

Your security and privacy setting should be set properly

Social networking websites of all kinds maintain privacy settings in which you can edit according to what you prefer. For instance, it is highly recommended to display your personal updates only to your family members, relatives, and close friends. Make sure that you carefully go through the items and not just tick any item that might reveal more of your profile to other users that you wouldn’t like to show; therefore, keep in mind that your friends’ friends can access information on your profile in you accordingly decided to program the settings.

Reasonably accept connections to links and friends’ requests

Keep in mind to accept friends’ requests only from the people who you personally know due to the fact that their friends may check your personal profile and to a great extent the information on your profile. In such a situation, you have to accept only the ones you trust in order to protect yourself. Visiting and carefully checking the profile of the person who added you to his/her list to make sue s/he is who s/he claims to be is a good idea.

Carefully post material on social networking websites

If you post something on a social networking website, even if you decided to delete it later on, it will remain there. The reason such an incident might take place is that someone might save the webpage on his/her computer, and there would be no possibility you will be capable of deleting it there. In addition to that, ask your friends to take your permission before posting anything that concerns you like personal pictures and information. Try avoiding posting personal information that might endanger your safety like posting personal activities, which include “leaving the house,” or “going to the bank.”

Business relationships are given great opportunities to develop during holidays. During holidays, people get a chance to interact with various clients and individuals. Holiday parties which are arranged by many organizations differ from the typical business meetings that regularly take place.
Beneficial Methods That Help Strengthen Business Networking:

1. Greetings during holidays

It is considered essential to search for new ways to continually stay connected with important colleagues in business networking. One of the effective ways to stay connected with these associates is to send holiday greetings from time to time because these greetings signify the individuals’ presence in the network.

2. Meeting arrangements

The potential targeted businesspeople are provided with a great offer of a good time to reach each other through holidays, yet many of them sometimes slack down during holidays. These individuals will be for sure thankful for the efforts and the business itself will maintain the opportunity to develop brand new relationships among its members.

3. Be present during gatherings and parties

Almost all businesspeople try not to attend holiday parties, even though it is important that they should stay connected with other people. From the traditional parties those businesspeople throw several organizations throw holiday parties. If you attend such parties, you will be able to stay visible and reconnect with other people in your field.

4. Acceptance of hospitality

Graciously accept people’s hospitality, since they are usually in a festive mood during holidays. Never refuse and generously accept anything offered from businesspeople. The reason that you should never refuse any of these offerings is that it makes them feel that they are doing something meaningful and respected.

Matters That Weaken Business Networking:

1. Spending most of the time talking about the business

Building good relationships among businesspeople would take place if you avoid mentioning the business life all the time. It is recommended to find out more about different parts of the people’s lives in order to get to know more than just the business part of it.

2. Taking the entire business network to gatherings

Although events, especially those that take place during holidays offer hosts an invitation to their network team, never allow the entire network team and just attend one or two, since it will reveal your respect.

3. Drinking too much during gatherings

Avoid drinking heavily during holiday gatherings and parties, since it will assist you in maintaining professionalism. Make sure that drinking takes place in moderation.
